Claw's line was hand built by Claw and his friends 5 days before the event in the gnarest of conditions. Zink's line was built over 30 days with tractors and carpenters. Both lines are sick, both guys were amazing......everyone should just pick their poison and admire both styles for what they are. Simply Amazing Athetes....period. To say one is better than the other would be foolish. Both lines set precedence. The video says "highlights". More often that not, when something is labeled "highlights" I think it means clips from some bangers. That helmet shot is not intended to represent any one of Claw's runs. That is why it is titled "highlights" I have a feeling that we will see more video slowly trinkle out as the weeks go on. Red Bull does a good job of controlling footage releases. Not exactly the easiest place in the world to film, when riders only make 1-2 runs a day over a venue 2 miles wide out in the middle of nowhere. Don't forget that Zink ate sh*t hard trying that 360 earlier. He ate it so hard that it could have been a contest ender for him. The 360 was a feat in itself. It was burly and will go down in history as one of the gnarliest hucks ever on a bike, period. Regardless what the judges are feel or think, we the people, will vote with our voices. I say it is a tie. Two different styles on two completely different runs, both worth their weight in gold. All judging aside, every rider who dropped in is a winner. The venue is so gnarly, that the only thing that seperated the podium from the rest was the ability to stay on the bike. Everyone ruled it, and every rider deserves a high fiver for even showing up. There are no chairlifts, no GLC, and certainly no buffed landings. Getting two runs over the course of a day is a feat all in itself. One of the main differences between Claw's run and all the others was that Claw built his line from scratch. He built it by himself with the help of his friends 5 days before the event. Not a single other person rode it, or tired to ride it. The majority of Gee's line and Cam Zink's line were built over the last 30 days by paid red bull staff and builders. There were some original sections in Zink's and Gee's lines, but nothing that came close to the sniper precision of the Claw! Me and some friends have been down here all weekend......for those of you chiming in about videos sucking, and or live feeds being lame, blah blah blah.......come down here and do it yourself if you can do it better. If you were actually here, taking the time to watch the 1hr hike a bike to the top of the drops, on a venue in the middle of nowhere, with no cell reception, no water or electricity (except for the daily gnarly lightning storms) maybe then you would change your tune. Red Bull, the camera crews, the riders and fans absolutely are the best in the world, making sh*t go down in a brutal environment under insane conditions. This is NOTHING like Crankworx, or the luxuries of the GLC. It is raw, hot as hell, and so big, that if a rider even survives two runs in a single day, he is a KING. There is a reason Gee Atherton only took one run in the finals today. He got one in the bag and called it good. Point is, admire the efforts of every hard working athlete and filmer that is down here! They all rule, they are all giving their best, and I have a hard time believing you could do it better, because if you could, you'd be down here, and your not.
